The Plate Fitter is responsible for utilizing machinery and tools to shape and install metal parts in shipbuilding. Duties include aligning, cutting, and welding metal components, interpreting blueprints, and ensuring quality control of materials.

Responsible for inspecting sites for scaffolding, constructing and inspecting various types of scaffolds, and ensuring safety regulations are followed in different weather conditions.

The Plate Fitter will read blueprints, fabricate metal parts, ensure material compatibility, and perform quality control, among other responsibilities.
