As a Director of Engineering in Machine Learning at Waymo, you will manage multiple teams, drive technical vision, and push the boundaries of deep learning to tackle complex autonomous driving challenges. Your focus will be on innovation in robotics while fostering collaboration across the organization.

Build and evolve a large-scale simulation and inference infrastructure, responsible for reliability, latency, and cost-effectiveness of simulations. Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts and experience working with large-scale distributed systems and inference services.

Develop infrastructure components for distributed training, automate deployment and monitoring processes, diagnose and troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance of ML framework.

Develop novel methods to measure simulation realism, design and build robust platforms for measuring simulation realism at scale, collaborate with engineering and research teams to improve simulation realism, and participate in building a realistic simulator for evaluating the Waymo Driver.

Waymo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure to lead the Planner Infrastructure team in building software for self-driving cars and ensuring system reliability. Responsibilities include software architecture, testing, driving plan generation, and machine learning model performance. Minimum requirements include a BS in relevant fields and 4 years of industry experience.

Analyzing performance characteristics of code generated by production grade compiler, architecting and implementing compiler support for novel features of unique neural network inference platform, and guiding model developers and hardware architects to improve efficiency and performance of inference hardware.
