Your Opportunity: Marketing General Inc., a division of Taylor Corporation, is looking for a Third-Party List & Data Coordinator to join their team! The Third-Party List & Data Coordinator plays a key role in driving successful acquisition marketing efforts by identifying, recommending, and managing external list and data sources. This role is responsible for sourcing and negotiating third-party list rentals and data purchases, coordinating list approvals and contracts, and serving as the primary liaison between data providers, internal teams, and clients. In addition to managing data and vendor relationships, this position provides accounting support by tracking list costs, reconciling vendor invoices, and assisting with campaign budget monitoring and reporting. The ideal candidate combines market insight, negotiation savvy, list marketing expertise, and basic accounting knowledge to ensure campaigns are powered by high-performing data and run efficiently within budget.
Your Responsibilities:
- Source & Evaluate Lists: Research, identify, and evaluate third-party data and mailing/email lists for use in direct mail and digital marketing campaigns.
- Recommendations & Strategy: Recommend specific list sources based on campaign goals, audience profiles, response history, and performance analytics.
- Vendor Relations: Build and maintain relationships with list brokers, co-op database providers, and other data partners; stay up to date on new list opportunities and emerging audience segments.
- Negotiate Pricing & Contracts: Lead contract negotiations and secure competitive pricing and favorable usage terms for list rentals or data buys.
- List Trafficking & Coordination: Oversee the secure and timely transfer of data files between list vendors and internal teams or external clients/partners.
- Compliance & Permissions: Ensure all third-party data usage complies with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data privacy and usage regulations.
- Performance Feedback: Track and share post-campaign performance back with list providers; maintain performance benchmarks and help refine future recommendations.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of list usage, costs, contracts, and campaign performance by list source.
- Accounting Support: Track and reconcile list rental costs, review and submit vendor invoices for approval, assist with client billing documentation, and support budget tracking across campaigns.
You Must Have:
- 2+ years of experience in list marketing, data sourcing, or direct marketing coordination.
- Strong understanding of list rental models, co-ops, compiled data, response lists, and data licensing structures.
- Experience negotiating contracts and pricing with data providers or brokers.
- Familiarity with major list and data vendors (e.g., Porch Group Media, Infogroup, MLX, Data Axle, Acxiom).
- Basic knowledge of accounting or bookkeeping principles, with comfort handling invoices, reconciling costs, and supporting budget-related tasks.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple list sources, financial records, and campaign deliverables simultaneously.
- Knowledge of data transfer best practices, including encryption, PII protection, and compliance standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and finance teams.
- Proficient in Excel; experience with accounting software, CRMs, ESPs, or data management platforms is a plus.
We Would Prefer:
- Experience working in a nonprofit, fundraising, association, or agency setting.
- Familiarity with direct mail campaign execution and digital retargeting programs.
- Knowledge of segmentation strategies and data modeling concepts is a plus.
- Experience collaborating with finance or accounting teams in a marketing context.
