Job Summary

The Senior Director, Brand Marketing will be responsible for the national marketing calendar, including core brand strategy and value positioning, new production innovation, and value strategies to drive transactions.

 

The ideal candidate is an experience brand marketing leader within the restaurant industry. In addition to serving as the ‘quarterback’ driving all marketing activity across the commercial organization, he/she will lead Papa Johns US menu evolution and strategy, pipeline development, and validation, determining success metrics and targets.   

The Sr. Director will be tasked with developing short and long-term brand marketing strategies and build a robust new product pipeline that successfully meets evolving guest needs and drives the Papa John's business objectives and brand affinity.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the national marketing calendar, including core brand positioning, new production innovation, and value strategies to drive transactions
  • Oversees all transaction-driving national marketing activity (promotional windows, new product launches, core menu optimization, value strategies)
  • Partners with marketing channel teams (creative, media, field marketing, analytics, loyalty & CRM) to build integrated marketing plans annually, seasonally and to support the national calendar
  • Leads Papa John's US menu evolution and strategy, pipeline development and validation, through Stage Gate process
  • Serves as single ‘source of truth’ in marketing; responsible for strategy and stewardship of core brand proposition
  • Develops commercial strategies and innovative solutions to drive transactions, with keen focus on consumer and business impact
  • Partners with Cross Functional Teams to build integrated plans that drive transactions
  • Results focused leader that successfully manages long term vision with short term in-market execution. 
  • Drive menu insights and trends and competitive menu intelligence to determine implications for Papa John's and recommend strategic and tactical responses. 
  • Partners with culinary team and vendor partners to conduct innovation sessions and manage innovation processes to assure valuable output. 
  • Cultivate an in-depth understanding of Papa John's consumer. 
  • Highly skilled at building collaborative, high performing, cross-functional teams. 
  • Engage cross-functional partners at all levels, such as Marketing, IDS, Restaurant Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to identify and address all marketing and product project-related needs.
