C.H. Robinson is looking for a Regional Trade Compliance Manager to join the team in Amsterdam Global Forwarding.
As a Regional Trade Compliance Manager, you will ensure compliance with EU/UK export regulations, specifically Export Administration Regulations, Foreign Asset Control Regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations, Foreign Trade Regulations, Dual-Use goods and export controlled goods, support branches, maintain compliance scores, and manage client communications. Key duties include overseeing the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program, the High-Risk Theft Targeted (HRTT) Cargo Security Program, and driving policy adherence to protect the Company and its customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Implement and maintain the Internal Compliance Programme (ICP) in EU/UK, ensuring branches/export leaders are trained and compliant.
- Conduct export audits and provide feedback to maintain or improve compliance scores for EU/UK Corporate, Branch Export, and Non-Conformity Audits.
- Oversee commodity jurisdiction, export licensing, and related processes at branch and corporate levels.
- Review sanction and embargo shipment requests.
- Guide employees on customer and government inquiries.
- Manage client Export Powers of Attorney and the global Denied Party Screening process in coordination with US compliance.
- Keep teams updated on industry, regulatory, and system changes.
- Maintain AEO Certification and HRTT security policies, while developing additional security measures.
- Collaborate globally to create customer/industry-specific HRTT security strategies.
- Perform other duties as needed based on team or country-specific requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Become or maintain Certified Export Compliance Specialist
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in export operations, export compliance or other compliance/regulatory setting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
- Strong collaboration skills, demonstrated ability to bring together multiple diverse stakeholders to achieve objectives and operational excellence
- Strong communication and external customer interface skills
- Proficiency level of English verbal and written, additional language is a plus
- Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to adapt to ever-changing tasks and customer needs
- Experience working on cross-functional teams tasked with implementing system or operational changes as per legal/regulatory requirements
Preferred:
- Extensive Knowledge of the various EU/UK Export Regulations including: Export Administration Regulations, Foreign Trade Regulations, OLAF agency, International Traffic in Arms Regulations, Dual-Use goods and export controlled goods
- Familiarity with US Export Control regulations (EAR, BIS, OFAC, DDTC, ITAR, etc)
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Strong communication, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Risk assessment and auditing experience
- Ability to work and communicate across the branch network at all levels of the organization
