Learning & Development Specialist (Houston Hybrid)

Reporting to the Learning & Development Manager, you will be instrumental in enhancing employee learning experiences and driving continuous improvement in our training programs. A Day in the Life of the Learning & Development Specialist:

Training Delivery and Facilitation:

• Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions, workshops, and seminars
• Use interactive and engaging techniques to facilitate learning and ensure participant engagement
• Provide coaching and support to learners during and after training sessions

Content Design and Development:

• Create comprehensive and targeted learning materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training materials, job aids, and multimedia content
• Utilize instructional design principles and adult learning theories to ensure content is engaging, relevant, and meets the needs of diverse learners

LMS and SharePoint Management:

• Oversee daily LMS operations on the employee side, including user accounts, roles, permissions, and troubleshooting
• Upload, organize, and manage e-learning courses and materials to ensure they are current and accessible
• Use data visualization to present training insights and support reporting requirements
• Develop, maintain and enhance SharePoint pages for Learning & Development programs

Collaboration & Project Management:

• Collaborate with subject matter experts, trainers, and cross-functional teams to gather information and align learning content with organizational objectives
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality learning content

Quality Assurance:

• Conduct regular reviews and evaluations of learning content to ensure accuracy, effectiveness, and relevance
• Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback to continuously improve the delivery and content of training programs

Required Qualifications - About You:

We are looking for candidates who possess the rare combination of the following achievements, skills and behaviors:

• Ideally, 2-4 years of experience in instructional design, developing eLearning courses, and collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to create engaging learning experiences, including microlearning.
• Ability to support the design and delivery of engaging and effective people programs that meet the needs of diverse learners and drive measurable learning outcomes
• Must have a passion for learning and development and a commitment to creating impactful learning experiences
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure high-quality content and timely project completion
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and take responsibility for outcomes
• Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to implementing new ideas and techniques
• Commitment to continuous learning and improvement, staying updated with the latest trends in e-learning and instructional design technology
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating empathy and understanding for diverse learner needs
• Collaborative mindset, working effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals

Highly Preferred:

• A bachelor’s degree in communications, human resources, organizational development, or related field. Additional experience in lieu of required education will be considered
• A go-getter who takes ownership and drives results
• A tech-savvy innovator who leverages AI and digital tools
• E-Learning Development - Experience in Articulate Storyline, Rise, or similar  to create interactive learning experiences
• Graphic Design & Video Editing – Basic skills in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut , or other design tools to enhance learning materials
• LMS Administration & Management – Experience with Docebo Learning Management System
