Job Description
Purpose of Job:
This role is responsible for development and delivery of training on HR topics. This role is responsible for ensuring an efficient and legally sufficient new hire process for prospective team members throughout North America. This role also has responsibility for providing support to the Compliance Team, Talent Group Business Partners and Team Members enterprise-wide to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal corporate policies.
Job Components:
- Creates and delivers training for field and home office team members on human resources topics and processes
- Interview potential team members and collaborate with hiring manger to determine the best candidates to hire
- Work with candidates to ensure timely processing of documentation and on-boarding procedures.
- Process Workday transactions in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance and completion of new hire paperwork, including I-9’s and company and department specific forms
- Serve as a liaison between company field locations and the corporate home office on a range of compliance matters
- Manage relationship with Background and Drug testing vendor.
- Initiate and facilitate drug testing in accordance with Interstate policies
- Serve as the contact person for various external inquiries, such as unemployment matters, subpoena requests, employment confirmations and lender confirmations.
- Manage the Department of Labor posting requirements for all Enterprise-wide locations.
- Diligently stay aware of relevant compliance issues affecting the industry and recommend and implement changes to internal company processes as needed
- Serve as custodian for designated team member personnel files
- Provide, when necessary, support to the Talent Group in various functions
- Provide periodic updates to leadership on status of various responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required and/or 4 years equivalent work experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and execute task in a high-pressure environment
- Attention to detail
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to work under general supervision and can contribute to the completion of projects and goals without direct supervision
- Ability to exercise sound judgment with defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
- Ability to respond to sensitive information discreetly and to maintain confidentiality
Scope Data:
With limited supervision, performs a variety of training, recruiting, specialized administrative and office support functions.
Work Environment:
- 15-20% travel; as business needs require
- Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time
- Work involves high level of energy and ability to get up and down frequently or sit for long periods of time
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and to handle other computer components
- Significant telephone use
- Ability to stand and squat for short period time when filing
