Position Overview: 

In this role you will ensure that we build ventures that have the potential to develop novel drugs that will reach the patient - bringing science to life. This role is varied by both taking ownership of the Biotech portfolio and creating long term partnerships for NLC and our ventures.

Activities include:

• Guiding and hands-on supporting our ventures in their development, engaging in value creation, and serving as a sparring partner and connector for the venture’s CEO
• Managing the portfolio of Biotech ventures
• Together with the existing team further develop our Biotech cluster (proposition, processes and team) 
• Support venture creation activities in assessing leads and negotiating licensing agreements and  partnerships with IP-owners and inventors
• Select a CEO to lead the venture together with our Venture Teaming experts
• Set-up ventures together with the Legal team
• Represent NLC as the founding shareholder in the ventures
• Develop and foster long term relationship with institutions and corporates to helps us identify emerging technologies which we can develop and commercialise 
• Expand our global network of KOLs, experts and entrepreneurs in Life Sciences and Biopharma

Profile:

• You have 10+ years of experience in the Biotech and/or Pharma/Life Sciences investment industry, with a focus on early-stage drug development
• Strong alignment with our company culture and values, characterised as Together, Open, Decisive and Optimistic
• For this role we are looking for two potential profiles:
• You are a (serial) entrepreneur in early-stage Biotech with experience in negotiating licensing deals, building teams, fundraising, setting up partnerships with pharma, and development of early-stage assets 
• You have been engaged in a senior position within a Biotech fund, managing and supporting a portfolio of early-stage Biotech Ventures
• You are experienced in portfolio management and/or supporting Biotech companies in developing their strategy and positioning
• You have a strong network in the Biotech sector, including Pharma and investors
• An educational background in a biotech related field is nice to have
• You enjoy both coaching and inspiring others, as well as being the driving force
• Regular presence in the Amsterdam office and plenty of flexibility to work remotely 
• Fluent in English, another language is a nice to have

• Ability to work in and lead cross-functional teams
• Highly dynamic and adaptable
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Be a sparring partner for multiple biotech ventures
• Ability to have strategic oversight over Biotech portfolio companies and steer the portfolio towards value creation
