UX Design Intern

Let's Talk About Responsibilities:

As a UX Design Intern, you will work directly with talented individuals of all levels collaborating closely with product managers, developers, and other designers to create intuitive and visually appealing interfaces. With guidance from a departmental leader, you will work on a variety of digital design projects focused on Providers (Physicians, Sleep Labs, Healthcare Providers). Projects may include redesigning patient portals, developing new features for healthcare provider interfaces, and improving user flows for medical device software.

The right candidate for our internship will be expected to know commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the User Experience Design process and rely on mentorship, instructions, and pre-established design guidelines to perform the job's functions.  

This role is preferred to be hybrid, located at our San Diego, CA office. Candidates may be asked to be available to participate in on-site team meetings and ongoing remote meetings and/or workshops.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

• Ability to work full-time for 12 weeks during Summer 2025; program dates are May 19, 2025 – August 8, 2025 OR June 16, 2025 – September 5, 2025
• Product Design, Human Computer-Interaction, Cognitive Science, Psychology academic studies that will lead to a Bachelor's or Master's Degree, or related field
• Foundational knowledge of user-centered design, interaction design, information architecture, visual hierarchy, layout, typography, color theory, branding, gestalt principles, and motion design
• Experience designing clickable low-to-medium fidelity prototype designed websites, software interfaces, and/or mobile apps in Figma based on user research, acknowledging technical feasibility
• Experience developing concepts, sketches, wireframes, flows, journey maps, storyboards, and other design artifacts.
• Portfolio showcasing design projects

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Up to date on latest UI trends and techniques
• Experience creating and/or applying design systems to designs
• High attention to detail
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Strong experiences as demonstrated through projects, research, and UX Design
• Great interpersonal relations, team cooperation and communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills as demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations
• Exceptional communication skills and interest and enthusiasm related to the medical technology industry and a career with ResMed
• Experience with AI/ML-driven products is a plus

Individual pay decisions will be made by our staffing provider partner and are based on a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.

Base Pay Range for this position:

$22.50 - $41.50 per hour.
