We are looking for a Telecom R&D Engineer
Based in Sorocaba, Brazil, reporting to the Telecom R&D Manager, you will be responsible carry out the activities of analysis, planning, research, studies, preparation and development of products, from its conception and design to new products or improvement and improvement of existing ones, based on customer needs, preparing estimates of costs, deadlines, conducting various tests, based on international guidelines, techniques and technologies preestablished by the Matrix, aiming to provide the company with competitive products in costs quality, safety, health and the environment. You will focus on the following activities:
- Plan, study, research and develop products, among other components, establishing objectives, scopes and methodologies, identifying sources of physical and financial resources and the preparation of physical-budgetary schedules.
- Define, with customers, internal and external, data and technical information necessary to carry out the development of new products and improvement of existing ones, verifying methodologies, techniques and technology that best meets the specifications, as well as the scope of work included in the dynamic analysis to be performed.
- Conduct technical and technological prospecting, identifying needs for improvements and improvement of products, processes and methodologies, pointing out trends of technologies in the market that provide increased quality, rationalization and cost reduction, aiming to meet the needs of customers.
- Provide technical advice, conducting audits and evaluations of projects and products, issue reports and technical opinions and information of science and technology.
- Develop products, elaborating conceptions and designs, equipment specifications, prototypes, materials, processes and methods, as well as monitoring the construction, tests, tests and analysis of results, and make technical and technological adjustments for the adequacy of scientific parameters.
- Ensure that product development is within the technical and technological standards of the company's quality, and meets all requirements declared in the technical specifications of supply and within the agreed deadlines, as well as their compliance with international technical standards, and Matrix, including safety, health and environment aspects.
- Lead research projects, establishing economic feasibility analyses of products and systems, variables of environmental impacts, safety, environment and health.
- Participate in activities of qualification, certification and homologation of systems and products developed, preparing quality manuals, procedures, standards and technical and technological specifications, evaluation of products and methods, processes, characteristics of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic tests, according to current legislation, technical standards and pre-established guidelines.
- Monitor and evaluate behaviors of the variables of systems and products projects, to ensure the compatibility of the results with the specifications.
- Develop technical documentation, issuance of reports and technical opinions, as well as update manuals, through studies, data collections and operational training programs, and generate technical and safety specifications of products and processes.
- Issue reports regarding technical and operational occurrences in studies and/or implementations/modifications carried out, keeping aware teams and other professionals involved and the recommended actions.
- Advise on the practical application of the results of research and development work, guiding the implementation of new technologies or insums, in order to cooperate to improve products or services.
- Store science and technology information, selecting international studies and research that provide monitoring of technological developments and contribute to the scientific development of products and the company.
- Develop and monitor projects of modifications of processes and production equipment.
- Ensure that procedures for the conservation, cleaning and hygiene of work areas, machinery and equipment are observed, as well as to guide third parties in compliance, also, with safety standards, discipline, accident prevention, environment and quality
- Search and implement cost-effective and saving opportunities in all possible products, materials, processes and methodologies (prioritizing the highest impact for the business: fast movers, high margin and strategic families).
- Technical support to the factory in any industrialization phase as part of the product lifecycle management end-to-end with focus on volume scale-up as well as stability.
- Technical support to Marketing (technical brochures, catalogues...) and commercial (visits to regional strategic customers).
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a person with the following skills and motivations:
- Bachelor or Masters in Engineering Electric (preferred) or Mechanical;
- Proven experience in Energy industry;
- Proven experience with design, manufacturing and testing;
- Flexibility and Dynamism;
- Good relationship approach – good communication skills;
- Team working capability;
- Problem solving and target oriented – pragmatic to solve engineering problems;
- Capability to set and to handle pragmatically the priorities;
- Capacity to understand and conceptualizes complexity into concise frameworks;
- Flexibility and capability to manage changes during the work;
- Wish to quickly learn and get involved;
- Knowledge and familiarity with of all basic and common software like Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and in the use of the Web;
- Advanced English, written and spoken;
- High analytical skills
