How you will make contributions that matter
We are seeking a dynamic Technical & Project Manager to lead the commercialisation of new product development (NPD) and existing products through their lifecycle from concept to commercialisation. This role involves managing a portfolio of projects and NPD activities for SDA, SDC, and supporting the commercialisation of projects from other Saputo divisions.
The Technical & Project Manager will oversee projects as a Project Manager, guiding them through the entire product lifecycle, and act as a Program Manager for projects they do not directly lead.
This role requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to manage cross-functional teams and deliver projects on time, while providing technical advice and support to customers and the Saputo sales team. Additionally, the role includes managing product specifications, technical, regulatory, and quality-related activities with internal stakeholders, customers, and government bodies.
Key Accountabilities:
Commercialisation:
- Support the commercialisation of Bulk and Functional Ingredients and Nutritionals, including new product development from SDA, SDC, and other Saputo Divisions.
- Ensure successful new product development and market introduction.
- Collaborate with the PMO & Commercialisation team to ensure cohesive project management and support for all Global Sales Accolade projects.
- Provide insights into new products and projects and commercialisation in the markets of Asia.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to the sales team and customers for both existing and new products.
- Develop value-added ingredients, address inquiries, and resolve technical issues.
- Provide inputs into product specifications for specific customer needs.
Project Management:
- Manage and execute projects end-to-end, including timelines, key milestones, and stakeholder liaison.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time to meet business and customer requirements.
Regulatory & Government Organisations:
- Work with government organisations like Dairy Australia, DAFF, Austrade, and the Infant Nutrition Council for regulatory requirements and market access in Asia markets.
- Understand country regulatory requirements and tariff quotas.
- Provide updates received from customers on any changes.
Commercial / Customer Management:
- Manage and understand customer requirements and proactively interact to ensure projects align with strategic goals.
- Understand key competitors within different markets and identify potential opportunities.
- Participate in weekly/monthly meetings with sales, finance, S&OP, R&D, and manufacturing teams to ensure customer requirements are met and team strategy alignment.
Qualifications,Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in science/engineering or related field in dairy or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Ideally of 5 years of Dairy and/or Nutritionals experience.
- Project Management experience.
- Sound understanding of dairy science and manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite & Stage Gate.
- Ability to work as part of a team or autonomously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to deal with different cultures where English is not the first language.
- Must be driven and able to set and manage own workload to meet division KPIs.
- Valid driver’s licence.
