The Local Philadelphia Production Operations team at TelevisaUnivision is looking for a Technical Director to join our team in Newfield, NJ!
You will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects related to the broadcast production from the Production Control Room - production switcher and basic understanding of all equipment in the PCR. The Technical Director will report to the Director of Operations.

YOUR DAY-DAY:
- Collaborate with the Creative Services team to create innovative concepts and strategies for on-air, digital, and social media content for our TV & Radio Stations and clients.
- Lead various Creative Services functions, including video & audio production, writing, and editing as assigned by the Creative Manager and Director.
- Manage production process from brainstorming to post-production, including budget planning, timelines, script drafting, casting, directing, and editing.
- Work independently on solo projects and as part of a team on large projects.
- Operate Ross Carbonite switcher.
- Operate switcher and Direct basic news, promos and briefs.
- Apply technical expertise to resolve technical issues that arise in the control room.
- Collaborate closely with producers and production staff in the preparation of rundowns and coordination of graphics.
- Manage and lead the technical crew during shift.
- Work with Engineering to ensure that all equipment is operating properly.
- Edit short and long format projects using Adobe Premiere, write scripts in English and Spanish, and design visually appealing graphics using software such as After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
YOU HAVE:
- Associate’s degree in television production or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of one year of experience as Technical Director of live shows.
- Working knowledge of control room workflows and understanding of basic audio, GFX’s and server playouts.
- Knowledge of Ross Carbonite switcher is preferred.
- Understanding of proper video and audio levels.
- Knowledge of iNEWS and Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Ability to communicate effectively with producers and production staff in preparation rundowns and coordinating graphics.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Leadership skills necessary to manage and lead the technical crew during their shift.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and live event situations.
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
- Flexibility to work onsite for extended periods of time to provide coverage in special circumstances, such as during tropical storms/hurricanes.
