What you'll be doing
Reporting into the Chief of Staff, Technical Solutions, the Staff Technical Writer will be responsible for:
- Content Development & Maintenance
Own the end-to-end creation and maintenance of high-quality technical documentation, including product guides, API references, onboarding materials, and internal knowledge resources. Ensure all content is accurate, accessible, and aligned with evolving product functionality and user needs. - New Product & Feature Documentation
Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Product Marketing to document new features and product releases. Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise documentation that enables successful adoption by both technical and non-technical audiences. - Process Leadership
Establish scalable documentation workflows, version control practices, and content governance standards. Serve as the point person for defining and refining documentation processes across the company to ensure consistency, quality, and speed. - Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with teams across Product, Support, Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, and Implementation to identify documentation needs and prioritize effectively. Act as a bridge between subject-matter experts and end users to deliver content that drives real impact. - Continuous Improvement
Regularly audit existing documentation for clarity, accuracy, and relevance. Proactively identify gaps and areas for improvement based on user feedback, support tickets, and internal enablement needs. Champion a mindset of continuous iteration and quality improvement. - Documentation Strategy
Shape the long-term vision for how documentation supports both customer success and internal scale. Advocate for best practices, contribute to tooling and platform decisions, and ensure documentation is treated as a strategic asset that supports company growth.
Who we’re looking for
- Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a software or technology environment.
- Experience managing documentation for complex software products or technical solutions.
- Writing and Communication Skills:
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to create clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
- Ability to translate technical information into content suitable for various audiences (e.g., developers, customers, internal teams).
- Technical Aptitude:
- Familiarity with software development concepts, APIs, and developer tools.
- Experience working with engineering teams to gather and verify technical information.
- Process Leadership:
- Experience establishing or improving documentation processes, including workflows, templates, and style guides.
- Ability to provide strategic direction on technical writing best practices.
Nice to have:
- Experience working in a company transitioning from a crowdsourced or decentralized documentation model.
- Experience with documentation management tools such as Notion, Zendesk, Markdown, Confluence, ReadMe or similar platforms.
- Basic understanding of version control systems like Git or tools such as GitHub.
- Experience with API documentation tools like Swagger or Postman.
- Exposure to agile development environments and ability to adapt to iterative processes.
- Experience creating multimedia documentation (e.g., screenshots, videos, diagrams).

This position has a salary range of $150,000 to $175,000. The base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and region. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for equity awards in the form of stock options (ISOs).
