Job Description Summary

Your primary responsibility will be to prepare and provide analysis of business activities related to all aspects of the corporate tax function with primarily responsibilities in the U.S. State and Local tax team. You will work closely with the U.S. State income tax manager to prepare workpapers for state apportionment in all states and various local tax filing obligations.

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Assist in the preparation of the quarterly state tax provision, analyze state tax accounts, reserves, and calculate return-to-provision adjustments for state taxes.
  • Support the review of state income tax returns prepared by a third-party, including gathering data, apportionment preparation and performing state-specific supporting tax calculations.
  • Assist in the analysis and interpretation of state tax law changes and their impact on the company’s tax returns and/or financial statements.
  • Review annual state tax return extensions prepared by third-party and manage the quarterly estimated tax payment process for state income taxes.
  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in state tax compliance and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and other relevant state tax regulations.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Payroll, Legal, IT, and other internal teams to ensure alignment and accuracy in state tax processes.
  • Support special projects, including state-level impacts of merger and acquisition activity and other strategic business initiatives.
  • Assist in researching and resolving various state income tax audits and notices.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of relevant tax compliance experience
  • BS/BA in accounting or finance
  • Experienced in OneSource Provision software.
  • Experience with tax technology software, such as Alteryx or similar applications
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • CPA or CPA eligible preferred

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $76,500.00 - $90,000.00
