Your Opportunity: Venture Solutions is looking for a Mid-Level Software Developer with 5+ years mainframe experience utilizing COBOL, VSAM and other mainframe tools.
Your Responsibilities:
Learn and maintain legacy systems
- Develop and support custom applications
- Coding fixes and new software development
- Familiarity with one or more programming languages
- Familiarity with standard development techniques (SDLC, OOD)
You Must Have:
- 5+ years mainframe experience utilizing COBOL, VSAM and other mainframe tools
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related area
- Ability to handle and keep track of a multitude of assignments at one time
- Attention to detail, excellent organization skills and a sense of urgency
- Solid analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manually debug an existing program
- Seeking self-starter with unyielding work ethic and motivation to learn a competitive business
- Excellent communication/documentation skills
- Customer Service oriented
- Good interpersonal skills
- Proactive Team Member
We Would Also Prefer:
- Print and mail experience
- Experience in DOS/VSE environment; Quikjob
- Mainframe conversion experience highly desirable
- Familiarity with Jira
