Social Media Marketing Intern

Responsibilities
Content Creation:
- Develop compelling video and static content tailored for Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and YouTube, ensuring alignment with brand messaging and audience engagement strategies.
Campaign Support:
- Assist in planning and executing social-first campaigns that align with broader marketing objectives, including employee advocacy initiatives, giveaway contests, and content strategy development.
Trendspotting:
- Research and identify emerging trends to position Minitab in timely and relevant cultural conversations, ensuring content remains fresh and impactful.
Content Calendar Management:
- Maintain and organize the social content calendar, streamline workflows, and ensure timely asset delivery for seamless content execution.
Organic Social Activations:
- Contribute to the conceptualization, visual storyboarding, filming, and editing of content to enhance brand presence and engagement across social platforms.
Analytics & Insights:
- Monitor key performance metrics, analyze data trends, and provide actionable insights to refine and optimize the social media strategy.
Industry Awareness:
- Stay up to date with evolving social media trends, platform updates, and best practices to inform content strategy and execution.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms and their best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an adaptable tone of voice.
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for storytelling and visual aesthetics.
- Experience with video editing and graphic design (Canva, Adobe Suite, etc) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social) is a plus.
- Proficiency with social platforms and the social landscape (Instagram vs LinkedIn, YouTube vs TikTok etc.).
This is an onsite position at our Chicago office and remote work is not an option.
