Job Description:
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Vehicle Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of engineering tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Oakland, California.
Accountabilities:
• Ensure the definition of the Vehicle System Architecture, by the identification of the interfaces among the main on-board technological sub-systems.
• Ensure that the Vehicle design is oriented to maintenance effectiveness and to use of expert diagnostic systems
• Execute the Verification activities of vehicle interface documents, according to the V&V Plan
• Ensure the assessment of the Rolling Stocks Design in order to achieve full integration with other sub-systems and components;
• Ensure the monitoring of Vehicle production and testing process in order to control key factors affecting interfaces and system performances.
• Participate to on site tests relevant to the vehicle Integration (e.g. advice to issue resolution)
• Ensure the proposal of improvements and updates of the design standards about Rolling Stock interfaces in accordance with process and technology improvements
• With regards to Rolling Stocks, contribute to the functional requirements fulfilment in Design and Testing phase and to the resolution of the interfaces among Rolling Stock and the other
sub-systems, by providing detailed description of the main integrated functions as well as main operating scenarios.
• KPI trends of the projects about Requirements Management
Required Skills:
- 5- 10 years' experience in on board equipment installation and testing.
- Knowledge in electrical wiring, functional scheme review, and mechanical installation.
- Ability to work in a complex project and team-work skills.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or Information Technology or Equivalent Technical Background
Languages:
English-Proficient
In accordance with the DOT’s FRA and FTA programs, Hitachi’s substance screening program tests pre-employment candidates and current employees, as required for safety-sensitive positions.
The salary range for this position is $121,000- $182,000 per year. Final pay is determined by the candidate’s experience, skillset and ability level, internal equity and location. CA,
