Summary of Job Description

This position is responsible for development and execution of internal and external communication programs. To enhance and protect the Company’s brand, the successful candidate will effectively describe and deliver Stryker’s growth narrative both internally and externally through multi-communication channels.

Work closely and proactively with other team members beyond the reporting line in order to contribute to continuous business growth. As for internal communications, work collaboratively with other business units and functions to support company-level events and newsletters to engage employees in alignment with the Company’s local strategies.

Collaborate with Global Communication and Branding team to ensure affiliate alignment with key internal/external communications.

Core Job Responsibilities

[Internal Communications]

  • Plan, edit and write contents for a variety of internal communications media, such as employees’ interview, weekly newsletter, intranet and so on.
  • Ensure internal communication messages across all media are consistent with company’s strategy and align with external communication.
  • Respond to feedback from employees and adjust communications content accordingly.
  • Act as a Stryker’s brand implementer and be a touchpoint of employees.
  • Support to drive Corporate Responsibility initiatives from communication standpoint.
  • A liaison with HR team and Great Place to Work Institute to optimize the annual survey.

[External Communications]

  • Deliver communications that will build Stryker’s competitive advantage and market share through multiple earned/owned/paid media.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • Review product catalogs and other promotional materials to ensure the messages are consistent and aligned with corporate branding.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3+ years’ experience in communications and branding is must.
  • Knowledge of media (traditional and digital), journalism, corporate branding are preferred.
  • Strong writing skills: need excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees.
  • Presentation skills: need sensitivity to the Company’s mission and strategy as well as the ability to relay them to employees. Strong command of making presentations on PowerPoint is plus.
  • Experience or strong interest in design work and video editing is plus.
  • Healthcare, Medical Device, Pharmaceutical and IT/ Digital Device industry experience is plus.
  • Experience in working in diverse, multi-national environment.
  • Native level Japanese and business level in English is must.
