Senior Scientist

The DuPont Electronics & Industrial business has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Scientist in the Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) Technology group located in Newark, DE. This role specifically resides within the Advanced Characterization and Technical Resolution group in CMP Research & Development. The group focuses on designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge analytical methods (aka “metrologies") to support R&D, product scale-up, and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Identify, develop and implement new analytical methods to support new products and processes from R&D through product scale-up and manufacturing.
•    Design of experiment and statistical validation of new metrologies including demonstration of Gage R&R capability.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to implement and align new methods.
•    Manage projects and collaborate with global R&D teams and business partners to develop and deliver new products and solutions.

Qualifications:

•    Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry or other related disciplines - or - Master's degree +15 years of experience
•    Strong technical knowledge and experience in a wide variety of analytical methods and polymer characterization techniques
•    Experience in developing algorithms for data analysis and building models to connect mechanical properties to product performance.
•    Proven track record of successful research in an industrial setting
•    Excellent project management and cross-functional team collaboration skills.
•    Strong interpersonal effectiveness and experience working across regions and geographies.
