As APJ Senior Legal Counsel you will join the rapidly growing global legal team supporting Databricks' business activities and working on diverse matters including the development of our business across multiple jurisdictions, negotiating commercial contracts, and solving issues relating to security and privacy. You will be agile, highly organized and have the skills, drive and flexibility to support and accelerate this leading technology company, addressing cutting-edge legal issues and organizational challenges.
The impact you will have:
- Draft and negotiate complex, non-standard agreements
- Advise sales teams on deal process and contract management
- Understand product, data security, and privacy process issues to guide the sales team during negotiations, and in many other contexts
- Help with standardization of documentation across multiple jurisdictions
- Understand Databricks' internal structures, product offerings, technology, security/data protection systems and policies to give you a foundation for providing support across all lines of business
- Provide general legal support across all areas of the business
What we look for:
- Japanese language abilities are required.
- Qualified attorney with 8+ years of relevant experience post-qualification, including time in an English speaking jurisdiction
- Fluent English speaker with high-level written English skills
- Relevant tech sector in-house legal experience
- Understanding of cloud services, technology, channel, and professional services contracts
- High-level negotiation and legal drafting skills
- Solid knowledge of business process, ideally gained in-house, relating to commercial, contract, intellectual property, and data privacy law
- Experience managing workload in a fast-paced environment with competing demands
- In addition, you should have a strong desire to be part of a dynamic legal team supporting the recognized leader in data and AI
