The IT Senior Project Manager is responsible to actively lead Element medium to large size capital project initiatives through the initiation, planning, development, and deployment phases of the SDLC.

The role requires effective coordination of the projects and management of their inter-dependencies including oversight of any risks and issues arising.

The Senior Project Manager will partner with members of IT and business organizations to evaluate, prioritize, and execute projects in support of business strategies. This individual will direct a project team and is responsible for establishing and executing of project management best practices resulting in the consistent delivery on-time, on-budget initiatives that provide measurable value to Element and its clients.  This individual will work closely with other members of the IT team and business impacted areas to define and implement enterprise strategy and operational plans, make decisions and influencing them, to deliver best in class technology products and services. This role is key and has a broad impact to specific projects that have the highest importance within the organization and are tied to the business objectives achievement.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans and manages the daily activities of the project team. Identifies and assesses project dependencies and provides timely, solution-oriented recommendations
  • Manages and evaluates vendor partners performance to ensure delivery and quality targets.
  • Analyzes vendor proposals, challenge them, and has a good relationship management with them
  • Establishes and actively monitors project performance through associated measurement criteria
  • Conducts monthly reviews of the project financials in alignment with the monthly closing process. This includes validation and correction of actuals along with the forecasting and resource planning for future months.
  • Develops and ensures compliance of project management policies including weekly reporting and alignment with stakeholders on project performance metrics; as well as risk identification and management
  • Construction bassline scope, timeline (project plan) and budget for completion of capital project
  • Provides consulting support to business leaders during the ideation phase of projects
  • Maintains resource planning including internal assignments, conflicts resolution and augmentation efforts

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, computer science, or a related field is required. 
  • Certification in Project Management or a Master’s degree Program is required; or proved related experience
  • Excellent experience in SDLC with different project management frameworks, including waterfall and agile.
  • Fluent English
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in the project management field. 
  • 3+ years IT projects experience
  • Soft skills to motivate people and navigate complex projects; including good communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience with Microsoft project and Jira (Ideal)

  • Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingly to mentor more junior team members and share knowledge.

  • Interpersonal skills to influence and inspire change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment
  • Define the Statement of Work and Specifications for the requested goods and services
