As a Senior Federal Program Manager to lead and manage federal projects, overseeing customer expectations, and a team of engineers. This role requires a seasoned professional with strong leadership skills, technical understanding, and the ability to allocate resources effectively while maintaining compliance. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in federal program management, exceptional communication skills, and is eligible for or holds an active TS/SCI CI Poly security clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end program management for federal customer initiatives, ensuring project goals, schedules, and budgets align with customer expectations.
  • Set and manage customer expectations through regular communication, transparent progress updates, and proactive issue resolution.
  • Supervise a team of engineers and other technical professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Assess project needs and allocate resources effectively, ensuring team members are optimally assigned to tasks based on skills and project requirements.
  • Negotiate contract terms, program objectives, and resource needs with clients and vendors, aligning them with budget and timeline constraints.
  • Identify program risks and develop mitigation strategies, ensuring project goals are met while managing potential challenges proactively.

Requirements:

  • Program management experience, focused on federal programs. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Program Management, or a related field. A master’s degree or PMP certification is a strong advantage.
  • Proven experience managing and leading cross-functional teams, including technical and engineering staff, with a focus on mentoring and team-building.
  • Skilled in setting and managing customer expectations, handling client communications, and navigating customer relations effectively.
  • Experience negotiating project scope, contracts, and resources with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Solid grasp of engineering principles and project requirements, with the ability to understand technical details and allocate work accordingly.
  • Ability to identify potential program challenges early, analyze complex situations, and develop strategic solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

Security Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
