Job Description
This role is responsible to execute effective communication processes and plans across OML Communications. The role monitors adherence to communications playbooks and frameworks.
Operational Delivery
-
Execute communication plans
-
Execute and report on communication initiatives and campaigns

Execute on the communications plan as aligned to Group Communications business plan
-
Syndicate and select suitable content for publication internally and externally
-
Create and edit communications content
-
Distribute communications to identified target audience

Maintain the communication platform landscape:

Identify communication platform needs / opportunities
-
Work alongside OM enablement and business units to investigate, recommend, build and implement communications platforms

Advise communication teams on channel effectiveness and internal optimal communication mixes given the channel and the target audience

Assurance / governance
-
Define internal platform effectiveness indicators; metrics and targets that measure communication & channel effectiveness based on behaviour change measured (awareness; understanding; participation)

Monitor internal platform indicators, metrics and targets

Engages with OML spokespeople to provide support in delivering the corporate narrative

Communications assurance & governance framework and mechanisms:
-
Adhere to communications playbooks
-
Socialize communications policies, principles, house views and frameworks
-
Support the compliance to policies, principles, house views and frameworks and assist in dealing with non-adherence

Implement COE specific compliance requirements

Individually accountable for managing own time, tasks and output quality over periods of up to a year
Finance and Governance

Minimum Qualifications/Experience
-
Relevant degree or qualification in Media studies or Communications
-
Sound experience in the delivery of communication plans and content
-
Experience in using digital platforms and channels
Additional Qualifications/Experience (preferred, not a requirements)
-
4-7 years solid experience in media monitoring and evaluation. Analysing media metrics
-
Relationships with relevant media across South Africa
-
Strong project management skills
-
Experience in broader Communications and Public Affairs environment

Digital Marketing

ResponsibilitiesContent Creation
Write drafts and edit content in line with organizational style guidelines to format and publish information on websites and in print.
Public/Government Relations Campaign Execution
Execute a public relations, government relations, regulation, and registration plan for a particular product, service, or specialty area while working within established systems.
Brand Positioning
Assist in achieving brand positioning and contribute ideas to brand plans.
Internal Communications
Execute a communications plan within established internal communication systems and procedures.
External Communications
Execute a communications plan within established systems and procedures.
Document Preparation
Edit document in line with organizational style guidelines and prepare information for publication.
Project Management
Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
Personal Capability Building
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
