Job Purpose
The role is responsible for driving the strategic initiatives that enhance organisational performance, employee engagement, and leadership development. This role will be instrumental in shaping a high-performance culture by ensuring alignment between organisational strategy, learning and development, and operational execution. It will lead efforts to optimise organizational design, process improvement, and foster an environment that attracts, develops, and retains top talent.
It will establish and execute McCain SAF's OE approach and will be responsible for the development of the necessary tools, processes and resources to ensure efficient execution. The incumbent will make use of their knowledge of learning and development, process optimization, employee wellness, organization design, performance management and organizational development interventions to unlock efficiencies aimed at achieving the organisation's objectives.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizational Design & Structure : Lead the design and optimization of the company's structure to align with strategic goals, assess and improve reporting lines and team structures.
  • Leadership Development & Succession Planning : Develop leadership programs and succession frameworks, creating personalized development plans for high-potential employees.
  • Learning Strategy & Programme Development : Design and implement learning strategies, manage training programs, and evaluate their effectiveness, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Employee Engagement & Performance Management : Enhance employee engagement through performance management systems and targeted interventions.
  • BEE Strategy : Develop and execute a BEE strategy, ensuring compliance and alignment with corporate goals.
  • Learning Culture & Employee Engagement : Promote continuous learning within the organization, ensuring L&D programs align with employee development needs.
  • HR Budget Management : Manage the HR department's budget, ensuring accurate tracking and financial resource allocation.


Job Holder Requirements:
Qualification

  • Degree in I/O Psychology, HR or related field
  • Skills Development Facilitator course (advantageous)
  • Skills Development Facilitator


Experience

  • 10 years' experience, from which
    • 5 years' experience in HR
    • 3 years' experience in Organisational Development
    • 2 years' experience in L&D and EE/BBBEE

Technical

  • Organisational Design & Development: In-depth understanding of organizational structures, roles, and processes, and the ability to design efficient systems that support both short-term needs and long-term goals.


  • Talent Management & Succession Planning: Expertise in building talent strategies, succession planning, and leadership development to ensure the organization's workforce is capable of meeting future demands.


  • Change Management: Proven experience in leading organizational transformation efforts with a focus on minimal disruption, effective stakeholder management, and strong communication strategies.


  • HR Analytics & Metrics: Strong proficiency in data analysis and HR metrics, including employee engagement surveys, turnover rates, and productivity metrics, to measure the effectiveness of initiatives and guide decision-making.


  • Performance Management Systems: Deep understanding of performance management tools and frameworks, including goal-setting, feedback systems, and appraisal processes.


  • Strategic Workforce Planning: Ability to forecast workforce needs, optimize talent allocation, and make recommendations for talent acquisition, retention, and development.
