Role Description:

Strada is seeking a skilled and innovative Senior API Team lead to join our team. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of managing our external facing API estate to drive the Strada business forward. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing API solutions as part of the Strada Platform that meet the needs of our clients and align with our company's technology strategy. This role aligned to the Products team within the Strada Product organization, providing a suite of solutions that streamline and simplify payroll for multi-national organizations and brings our legacy AWS North America API estate in Strada forward looking Azure estate leveraging MS Azure API Management solutions. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the API-first design approach, focusing on creating scalable and maintainable APIs that enhance user experience and functionality.
  • Define, champion, and maintain standards for API design and development.
  • Design and develop RESTful APIs.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications, including the support of bringing our AWS legacy API estate into Azure
  • Collaborate with UI designers to ensure API designs align with user interface requirements and expectations.
  • Engage with engineering teams to guide the implementation of designed APIs, ensuring technical feasibility and adherence to best practices.
  • Ensure the security, scalability, and performance of APIs through design principles and testing.
  • Facilitate the creation API documentation to support development teams and external partners.
  • Maintain knowledge of current industry trends, technologies, and standards in API development to continually enhance our practices.

 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Hands on experience in API design, development, and management
  • Hands on experience with cloud hyperscalers like AWS, Azure, ...
  • Familiarity with API design tools (e.g., Swagger, Postman, Stoplight) and methodologies (e.g., OpenAPI Specification).
  • Knowledge of security best practices in API development.
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including UI/UX designers, product managers, and engineers.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their API management tools.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
