 As a Sales Engineer - Relay Panels, a typical day might include the following:  

  • Manage and develop relationships with SEL customers and sales representatives.
  • Understand the true requirements and objectives of customers.  Determine, communicate and deliver the optimal SEL solution that best meets their needs.
  • Building and maintaining knowledge of all SEL panel and enclosure products and teaching customers SEL panel and enclosure technology and innovation.
  • Develop, maintain and deliver upon orders forecasts and sales goals.
  • Collect, analyze and report industry, competitor and customer trends to the greater SEL organization.
  • Work collaboratively to understand and drive the resolution of customer feedback and product issues.
  • Liaise between customers, contracts & risk, and accounts receivable to facilitate commercial relationships.
  • Utilize Salesforce to maintain customer relationship information, opportunity tracking and sales activities.
  • Communicate with manufacturing teams to develop sales proposals and execute panel and enclosure projects.

This job might be for you if possess the following:   

  • A B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, a related engineering discipline or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in technical sales
  • 2 or more years of experience in an electrical engineering or technical sales environment
  • Demonstrated success working in a customer facing role
  • The ability to travel 25-30% of the time
  • Effective and engaging communication skills
  • The ability to skillfully manage price and commercial negotiations with the support and guidance of senior team members
  • The ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • The ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

 
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Utility, industrial, or manufacturing industry experience
  • Experience with electrical relay panels or enclosures
  • Leadership experience
  • Experience using SEL products

Pay Range Data

$80,000 - $120,000 per year. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
