Emerging Tech is looking for experienced Project Managers to join our team on the Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) initiative at the Ohio Department of Veterans Services. This role will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects aimed at transitioning the facility to a unified Federal Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This role ensures that the EHRM projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with the Department of Veterans Affairs' objectives to enhance healthcare delivery for Veterans.
What You'll Do:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional teams comprising architects, engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project schedules.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the medical center, federal leadership, and external partners to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Engage with clinical staff to gather requirements, address concerns, and ensure the new EHR system meets end-user needs.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, developing contingency plans as necessary.
  • Conduct root cause analyses for any issues that arise and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including meeting minutes, progress reports, and decision logs.
  • Prepare and present regular status updates to senior leadership and other stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and next steps.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions to the new EHR system.
  • Provide training and support to staff to ensure successful adoption and utilization of the new system.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, with at least 2 years in healthcare IT projects, preferably within the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Proven track record of managing medium to large-scale EHR implementations or similar healthcare technology projects.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or related methodologies are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare IT systems, particularly EHRs and interoperability solutions.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, as well as other Microsoft Office applications.
