Program Engineer
Holtec Palisades is currently seeking a Programs Engineer to join the Palisades Nuclear Plant team in Covert, MI.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Conducts routine engineering activities and ensures the safety of nuclear components at Palisades nuclear plant.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures code and programs engineering work is performed and implemented consistent with defined codes and standards.
- Produces quality engineering products in support of code program implementation. Designs and maintains conformance with station license, codes, and standards.
- Maintains design bases of the plant. Develops, plans and coordinates or implements special projects, corrective action plans, and improvement programs to address plant problems or regulatory sensitive issues.
- Oversees development of drawings, specifications, and detailed design for fabrication of new and modification of existing plant equipment and systems. Initiates and executes frequent exchanges with others to resolve areas of conflict, promote a supportive team approach, and address issues where obstacles are hampering common performance.
- Ensures fleet lessons are learned and good practices are implemented.
- Controls engineering costs through the optimization of resources and tracking expenditures within budget parameters. Must be able and willing to complete 10CFR50.59 qualification.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
B.S. Degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering curriculum or graduate of an accredited engineering technology curriculum of accepted standing or equivalent work experience.
Minimum experience required of the position
If not a graduate of the aforementioned nature (B.S. degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering curriculum or graduate of an accredited engineering technology curriculum of accepted standing), a minimum of 6 years engineering experience indicative of growth in engineering competency and achievement required. Work experience of 2 - 4 years in nuclear code programs or equivalent experience in operations or system engineering.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
- Knowledgeable in code program requirements for nuclear power plants.
- Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation.
- Outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills.
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft desktop software.
- Knowledgeable of probabilistic risk analysis methods.
- Skilled at system analysis.
Any certificates, licenses, etc., required for the position
Desired: SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR; Professional Engineering license.
