Summary
The primary responsibilities of a Production & Materials Planner include forecasting the materials needed for production, coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, managing inventory levels, and optimizing the supply chain to meet production targets
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing and expediting of all materials
- Ensuring delivery of materials in full on time, best price, best quality. Inventory levels in line with targets.
- Identifying all potential supply issues
- Notification of potential constraints prior to OOS risk
- Generate and Maintain Purchase orders
- Ensure PO dates and quantities are accurate and maintained in a timely manner
- Overdue Purchase order management
- Follow-up with supplier on deliveries to ensure they are achieved, minimising risk to production
- Produce shortage reports, expedite deliveries due to plan changes
- Providing excellent customer service for internal customers
- SLOB review and management
- Review, resolve or escalate slob - weekly
- Invoice validation, reconciliation and queries
- All Invoices processed in a timely and accurate fashion -resolve non-payment issues
- Create and update production schedules
- Schedules are created and updated with focus on key measures in collaboration with production area
- Feedback to supply planners and management on potential constraints
- Ensures that supply planners release schedules are realistic to work with
- Schedule in trials
- NPD and CI trials to be scheduled in consultation with R&D, Supply planner and team managers.
- Measure and track CFR
- Regularly review and monitor production line speeds and
Material Scheduling
- In consultation with and under the supervision of the Materials Scheduling Manager
- To procure and expedite materials for HWNZ to the company's best commercial advantage ensuring all forecast requirements are met on time and in full.
- To manage suppliers and communicate priorities daily and ensure best practices are utilised in all areas of purchasing, delivery and payment of materials
Production Scheduling
- Sequence production schedules in the most effective way to maximize production volume.
- Provide direction and support to the plant throughout the week as production and change in production and demand.
- Ensure all systems are integrated and reflect the updated plan, updating Sequencing planning systems and releasing process orders into BPCS
- Collaborate with S&OP to identify issues on the horizon that could impact plans.
- Collaborate with R&D/S&OP and the factory to schedule testing of production for new product launches
About you
- Tertiary Education ideally within manufacturing
- Computer literacy to being proficient with Excel and Word
- Previous experience in a related field
- Previous experience within a manufacturing company is a plus
- Project managing skills
- Great communications skills
- Purchase order experience
- SLOB experience is a plus
