Job Description
The Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) for the Cell Culture Cell Therapy and Supplements businesses is a role within the sales organization of the BioProduction Group. This role will actively handle funnel opportunities for near-term revenue gains and develop new opportunities to build a strong a pipeline for future growth, while maintaining current business relationships and organic growth. This individual will apply their sales experience, bioproduction process knowledge, product expertise, market intelligence, and territory leadership to grow sales and profitability
Location:
This is an outside sales role covering the Midwest area. Residency in a local state is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Searches for new opportunities and uses product portfolio to build a foundation for long term growth
- Drives existing funnel of opportunities to accelerate closure rates
- Applies intelligence-based prospecting to identify new potential opportunities
- Prioritizes New Product Introduction (NPI) prospects within territory to improve adoption rates and revenue return
- Acts on marketing-qualified leads, quickly converting to new opportunities
- Collaborates with and influences Bioproduction Account Managers (BAMs) and Field Application Specialists (FAS) within their district to develop and lead account growth strategies
- Establishes and builds relationships with key decision-makers and identifies the technical buyers
- Assists all BAMs within assigned territory with sales and account planning efforts to achieve sales goals, including value proposition development across the wide BCD portfolio
- Aids in development of technical solution-matching for complex opportunities
- Attends technical collaboration visits to Business Unit manufacturing and R&D sites
- Provides post-sales product support, follows up on all product performance complaints or inquiries to ensure resolution
- Maintains and builds technical knowledge on assigned product lines, company literature, and competitor products
- Demonstrate ability to build an Account Strategy based upon Value Proposition and customer knowledge
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Graduation in a life-science related field preferred, such as Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Engineering
- 2 + years of sales experience working in a role related to the bioproduction process
- CRM experience
- Shows sound judgment and tact when negotiate with internal and external customers
- Must possess strong understanding of customer challenges and solution development
- Knowledge of Miller-Heiman sales technique or applicable experience
- Travel requirement of 50% with some overnights
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Illinois is $75,700.00–$115,000.00.
