Who You Are ?
People are what make Ontic a great place to work. You are a highly organised and empathetic HR professional who thrives in a startup environment. With experience in employee relations, HR operations, and compliance, you will play a key role in managing day-to-day people operations while supporting broader HR initiatives. You are comfortable balancing multiple responsibilities and are a strong communicator with a passion for creating an engaging and compliant workplace.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, ensuring concerns are addressed in a fair, timely, and empathetic manner.
- Provide guidance and support on HR policies, benefits, processes, general HR queries.
- Handle compliance-related matters, ensuring the company is compliant with local labor laws and regulations, and stay up to date on any changes that may impact the business.
- Manage documentation related to employee onboarding, off-boarding, and compliance requirements (e.g., contracts, statutory benefits, etc.).
- Manage and approve employee expenses on the company’s expense portal, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Handle day-to-day office administrative tasks related to HR operations, including office supplies, space management, and vendor coordination.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute employee engagement initiatives and events, ensuring they align with company culture and enhance employee satisfaction.
- Actively support and manage internal communication efforts around company-wide events, recognition programs, and team-building activities.
- Coordinate with managers and leadership teams to improve employee engagement and ensure ongoing positive sentiment through pulse surveys and feedback mechanisms.
- Create and maintain HR and talent dashboards and reports to track key people metrics, such as attrition, engagement, training, and performance.
- Involved in compensation benchmarking and market analysis, ensuring competitive and equitable compensation structures for the organisation.
- Streamline and improve HR processes to increase efficiency and workflows, and policies that enhance the overall employee experience.
- Develop, implement, and streamline HR policies that promote compliance, consistency, and transparency across the organisation.
- Lead or participate in key HR projects, such as implementing new HR software or systems, improving performance management processes, and defining HR strategies.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of talent management frameworks, including learning and development opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in HR operations, employee relations, compliance, or HR management, ideally within a SaaS or fast-paced startup environment.
- Strong understanding of HR processes, compliance, and employee relations in India, as well as familiarity with HRIS systems.
- Experience in managing HR data, creating reports, and using HR tools to generate insights.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a strong sense of ownership and
- attention to detail.
- A solutions mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment
- A passion for people and creating a positive, engaged, and compliant work environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport across all levels of the organization.
- Experience in HR analytics, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Enthusiastic about fostering a people-first culture and committed to delivering an exceptional employee experience.
- Strong collaborative skills to work cross-functionally with hiring teams.
- Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities and strong sense of accountability and urgency.
