The Corporate Investment Banking Custody Operations - Payment Lifecycle - Manager is a part of our broader Security Services Custody Operations team which is responsible for end to end operational service to our custody clients to ensure timely processing and proactive resolution of outstanding exceptions by being a single point of contact with subject matter expertise.
As a Payments Life Cycle Manager the core responsibility is to provide end to end oversight to all Custody client account cash transactions processed but pending settlement.
Job responsibilities:
- Track payment end-to-end to ensure all transactions settle in a timely manner.
- Follow up with internal teams, agents and counter-parties on outstanding incoming and outgoing wires through the lifecycle of the transaction.
- Partner with Transaction Approval Group (TAG) and liquidity teams to ensure all outstanding cash transactions are actioned prior to applicable deadlines.
- Escalate any funding requirements based on advice from TAG team to Middle Office for client interaction.
- Monitor US$ channel limits and work with operations to release any limits breaches to ensure timely settlement.
- Monitor any transactions that are held for OFAC and partner with the central screening team to ensure the transaction can be released timely for settlement.
- Manage queries from Central Screening unit for any transactions that are held due to OFAC screening.
- Act as a single point of contact for managing and resolving all issues and inquiries related to cash.
- Coordinate between internal teams to resolve open inquires.
- Identify trends around delayed or failing wires leveraging our relationships with other internal teams, Agents and counter-parties for feedback.
- Manage error stats and analysis to be published and reviewed with TAG, operations and banking for root cause analysis.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Bachelor in Finance or equivalent degree
- Flexible to work in shifts
- In-depth understanding of Cash, Trade and Margin flows and experience in managing the same with minimum of 8 years of experience.
- Experience in handling global clients / stakeholders with high customer centric attitude.
- Ability and experience in handling high transactional volume operations and ability to make correct business related decisions in stressful situations.
- Displays inclusive behavior and encourage diverse views and ideas to address any issue.
- Innovative mindset and ability to identify the inherent risk in the work flows. Should be able to challenge the status quo and ability to devise the automated solution to remediate the manual work flows.
- Ability to handle risk and quality related issues and experience in handling the same effectively to avoid re-occurrence.
- Able to grasp/learn concepts and procedures quickly.
- Problem solving skills and attention to detail ability.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Well verse with minimum market requirements / nuances existing across exotic currencies such as BRL, THB, KRW, IDR, etc.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of various regulations applicable to FX markets, such as ERISA, Dodd Frank etc.
- Global stake holder management, understanding client's requirements
