Your Responsibilities
- Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications in Europe and further afield
- Conduct patentability assessments, freedom-to-operate analyses, and provide strategic advice to clients
- Collaborate with research and development teams and tech transfer offices of corporate and academic clients, to identify and protect innovations
- Represent clients before Patent Office(s) and the European Patent Office
- Keep up-to-date with changes in patent law and practice
Your Profile
- Degree-level qualified in Physics, Material Science or Engineering.
- EQE-qualified with at least 5 years of experience in the profession; additional national qualification(s) are desirable but not essential
- Experience in physics/engineering casework. drafting, filing and prosecuting EPO and PCT applications
- Knowledge of EPO opposition and appeal procedures, contentious proceedings
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of an international team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional linguistic skills are desirable but not essential
