Team Global Express NZ delivers freight forwarding, end-to-end transport services, and comprehensive logistics solutions to customers operating in New Zealand from Kaitaia to Invercargill.
Due to recent staff movements, we have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Supervisor join our office in Nelson.
About the role - Mō te tūranga
You will be responsible for for managing the processing of all inbound and outbound freight, ensuring the utilisation of the appropriate resources to achieve financial results. Furthermore, this role will involve effectively leading the operations team to achieve quality service standards, whilst upholding a safe working environment.
Additional Key Responsibilities:
- Manage branch operations to ensure fluent freight flow for our customers.
- Day to day and strategic planning of people and fleet
- Lead, motivate and manage a team.
- Provide accurate and timely operational reporting.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety policies and legislation.
- Meet and maintain financial/operational KPIs.
What will you bring? – Ōu Pūkenga?
The successful candidate will need to have a strong customer delivery focus and experience in team supervision/leadership.
Additionally, you will have:
- A positive and proactive approach to problem solving.
- Knowledge of operational cost and resource management
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the transport industry
- A strong Health & Safety focus
- The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across groups.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills
