As the Operational Excellence (OPEX) continuous Improvement Associate Manager role you will collaborate with business partners at all levels to enhance productivity in critical business functions and be dedicated to fostering a high-performance culture at SC Johnson. It is a key enabler for optimizing, digitizing, and augmenting work in alignment with the Better Work, Better World strategy.
Individuals on the OPEX team are expected to provide project management support across multiple strategic initiatives, facilitate both in-person and virtual process improvement workshops, and offer capability building services ensuring the consistent application of OPEX methodology drives favorable and sustainable business results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Apply core OPEX methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Breakthrough, and Agile during working sessions which advance strategic Better Work Better World objectives, reduce organizational friction, and increase operational productivity.

Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional and global stakeholders to identify and eliminate sources of waste

Influence business partners, at all levels, to adopt a process-first, continuous improvement strategy for process optimization and perform readiness assessments in preparation for digital transformations

Coordinate effective communication between business leaders and technical experts to ensure a clear understanding and alignment on the representation of key performance indicators (KPIs) and other critical insights that drive business decisions

Facilitate OPEX-University (OPEX-U) training sessions and offer coaching services to strengthen the continuous improvement culture within SCJ
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

University Degree & 5+ years of relevant work experience or advanced degree & 3+ years of relevant work experience in Advanced Analytics, Operational and/or Continuous Improvement roles with increasingly responsibility
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
-
Must be comfortable working in a matrix organizational structure, demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to influence, and effectively facilitate technical workshops with large groups

Strong technical abilities to manage through ambiguity by performing root cause analysis with qualitative/quantitative data sets and can present results effectively using data visualization tools

Lean Six-Sigma training with Green Belt Certification or equivalent and proven experience applying continuous improvement tools to business processes

Able to work independently, results focused, strong communication skill & excellent attention to detail

Proven Project Management skills with ability to initiate, plan, execute & deliver on commitments with a strong sense of personal ownership

Comfortable operating in Agile/Scrum Project Management Framework

Technical Toolkit: Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Excel, PowerPoint Visio), Microsoft PowerPlatform (PowerApps, PowerAutomate, Power BI), Jira, Lucid, Tableau

Physical demands include the ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time and to lift and move objects, such as files or workshop supplies, that weigh up to 25 lbs

Some travel is required, primarily to and between various Racine/Chicago-based campuses. Overnight travel to other SCJ regional or global sites is infrequent but may also be required on an ad-hoc basis
