Position Summary
As a Mechanical Innovation Engineer, you will lead the engineering aspects of innovation projects focused on dosing, dispensing, and dilution systems. From concept to implementation, you will oversee the design, development, testing, and verification processes while documenting and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
This role requires a highly motivated and curious individual who thrives on solving technical challenges. You will work within a dynamic team of engineers, scientists, and chemists, exploring innovative and sustainable solutions that address customer needs in the cleaning and hygiene industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Innovation & Design: Lead design and engineering projects for dosing, dispensing, and dilution systems, ensuring alignment with customer needs and sustainability goals.
- Prototyping & Testing: Develop, test, and refine prototypes in lab environments to ensure quality and robustness.
- Technical Development: Create CAD designs, perform tolerance stack analysis, and collaborate with production partners to transition designs to manufacturing.
- Project Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Supply Chain, and external suppliers to define technical requirements and ensure project success.
- Verification & Validation: Establish test protocols, verify system performance, and document findings to meet compliance and quality standards.
- Mentorship & Reporting: Coach junior engineers and provide detailed technical reports with innovative solutions to challenges.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education & Experience:
- Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of experience, or Bachelor’s with 5+ years.
- Hands-on prototyping and 3+ years in an engineering/design team, ideally with external partnerships.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and tolerance stack analysis.
- Experience with plastics manufacturing, injection molding, and fluid systems.
- Basic understanding of mechatronics/electronics (sensors, PLCs, IoT).
- Soft Skills: Creative, innovative, collaborative, and fluent in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with fluid pumping, dispensing systems, and chemical compatibility.
- Knowledge of Design for Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Understanding of water regulations and IoT applications.
- Familiarity with sustainable and circular packaging practices.
