Welcome to Husqvarna - one of the world’s oldest start-ups!

Curious by nature. Constantly on the lookout for new territories to explore. And new ways to experience the world around us. We have gone from solving people's everyday problems to shaping great experiences, such as enjoying time in the garden while new technology does the job.

We are a creative hub for innovative and passionate minds. Together, we are on a mission—to shape greater experiences than ever before and revolutionize the way we take care of our lawns. And now, we want you to be a part of it.

About the department and the team

At Husqvarna Residential R&D, we're not just developing cutting-edge robotic lawn mowers—we’re building the future of robotic mowers. Our Mechanics Development Team is at the forefront of this journey, designing and improving the mechanical parts that make our robotic mowers run smoothly. We work on both new development and product maintenance, ensuring our products stay ahead in the market.

We are a tight-knit team of about eight people, led by a Lead Engineer, and work closely with other mechanical teams, including mechanical architects and TPMs responsible for overarching strategies. This means you won’t be working in isolation—collaboration is key, and we value teamwork across all levels.

We work in a fast-paced and innovative environment, with access to a state-of-the-art material lab, verification lab, prototype workshop, and CAE department. You will have the chance to collaborate with skilled colleagues, tackling technical challenges together. Here, every team member has a high degree of individual responsibility for their deliveries while still being an integral part of a larger whole.

We also place great emphasis on a strong team culture—we value openness, feedback, curiosity, and a prestige-free attitude. It’s not just about what you can do; it’s about how you contribute to the team dynamic.

About the role as a Mechanical Design Engineer

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll play a critical role in developing mechanical components for our robotic mowers using CAD. Your technical expertise will be key in taking designs from concept to reality, ensuring they meet our high-quality standards.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Designing injection-molded plastic parts and other mechanical components.
  • Working with Catia V5 (experience in this is a plus) and PLM systems like SmartTeam & TeamCenter.
  • Participating in pre-studies and concept reviews, refining ideas alongside fellow engineers.
  • Integrating your designs with manufacturing and suppliers, both locally and internationally.
  • Balancing CAD work with hands-on collaboration, moving between the office, lab, and supplier meetings.

While the role involves a lot of computer-based work, it's not just about sitting at your desk. You'll be interacting within the team and with production sites to ensure successful implementation of designs.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is not only skilled but also thrives in our collaborative and open culture. To succeed in this role, you should be:

  • A team player who enjoys knowledge-sharing and working together to solve problems.
  • Prestige-free, driven, and eager to learn and adapt.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, where you take ownership of your tasks and deliverables.
  • Proficient in English (Swedish is used in daily interactions but is not a requirement).
  • Experienced in mechanical design—we are looking for someone with at least two years of related work experience, and a Bachelor in Mechanichal Design or similar.

Location & Work Setup

Our team is based in Huskvarna, where we believe in the value of working closely together. While some flexibility exists, we aim for 80% on-site presence, as collaboration is at the heart of how we work.

If you’re ready to shape the future of robotic mowers and be part of a team that values innovation and collaboration—we’d love to hear from you!
