Position Details:
We are seeking a skilled SAP Basis Manager to oversee the engineering, administration, performance, and integrity of our SAP systems. In this role, you will lead a team of SAP Basis Engineers and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability and reliability of our SAP environments. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting our engineering projects and aligning SAP solutions with our business objectives.
Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Business Platform Engineering, you will be based in Lake Forest, IL.
You Will:

  • Lead and mentor a team of SAP Basis Engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Manage SAP-related projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Manage and optimize SAP Environment both on-prem and on the cloud, ensuring system availability, performance, and security.
  • Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to align SAP capabilities with business needs.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and usability of SAP systems.
  • Ensure effective monitoring, timely and high-quality communication and alerting when service disruptions occur. Lead and coordinate large cross-functional recovery efforts for incidents (Code Red/Escalated Condition) to minimize downtime and lost revenue, when appropriate
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in SAP Basis management.
  • Stay updated on SAP technologies and cloud trends to recommend improvements and innovations.
  • Provide escalation support and participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Conduct performance reviews and have thoughtful individual career development plan conversations with team members.


You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration, with a strong focus on engineering environments.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP architecture, including ECC, S/4HANA, and other related modules
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and related services.
  • Good knowledge of SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP)
  • Experience with system migrations, upgrades, and performance tuning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience with delivery methodologies such as Agile, Scrum & other iterative delivery approaches (Dev/Ops)
