The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $94,000 to $118,000
Job Summary
This position provides implementation support for the delivery of Avangrid’s renewable energy programs, which is in the Customer Service Department within Avangrid Networks, to meet or exceed Avangrid's company and regulatory objectives. This is accomplished through a comprehensive knowledge of the program or project offerings, customer needs, internal policies, program procedures, regulatory requirements, data analysis and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. This dynamic position is responsible for financial and analytical processes, as well as internal and external stakeholder engagement in support of the renewable energy programs. Responsibilities include data management, analysis, reporting, directing research, analysis, and communication of project results, overseeing the coordination of analytic efforts to attain project objectives, and directing and integrating the work of consultants or vendors. This visible position delivers presentations of results to UI leadership and others internal and external stakeholders in a clear and effective manner, including within regulatory or legislative forums, community and customer groups, and industry entities, and may provide direction and mentoring to support analyst if applicable.
Key Responsibilities
- Plans, monitors, and manages renewable energy projects and/or programs: Plans and manages the logistics of renewable energy program payment process activities. Responsible for renewable energy program support activities, financial processes, data management, reporting and analysis, process development and process and system improvement.
- Leads or coordinates renewable energy project/program planning, resourcing, progress reporting, and troubleshooting: Administers renewable energy program activities and payment processes, reconciles complex pricing, accounting, and supplier credit/payment issues.
- Monitors performance and makes recommendations for project/program improvements: Independently assesses and reviews costs and benefits of various renewable energy program processes, identifies opportunities to reduce costs and risks to UI's customers, and develops and implements process improvements.
- Ensures renewable energy project/program results meet requirements: Performs technical review and quality assurance checks on renewable energy program and product activity, ensuring compliance with minimum standards, program rules, regulatory requirements, and contract specifications.
- Provides excellent customer service throughout all phases of customer or prospective customer participation in programs and products with a comprehensive knowledge of energy technologies and equipment, utility rates, tariffs and policies and financing/incentive programs.
- Solves complex problems and develops creative solutions; performs analytics that answer key questions related to renewable energy programs and payment processes.
- Anticipates customer and stakeholder needs; assesses requirements and identifies new solutions.
- Communicates difficult concepts related to renewable energy programs to internal and external audiences. Develops reports and presentations for various internal and external parties including UI senior management.
- May be required to represent AVANGRID orally or in writing to regulatory, public and industry focused entities.
- Prepares reports and regulatory filings.
- Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve Connecticut's statutory clean energy goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of releveant work experience OR Assocaites Degree with 7+ years relevant experience.
- Results oriented with strong critical and creative thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent data management and analytical skills; Attention to detail and the ability to use and analyze spreadsheets, reports and/or similar programs.
- Strong collaboration and cross functional team skills, with a desire to serve co-workers and provide customers with excellent service.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, SAP, etc.)
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to present complex, technical topics to internal and external audiences of various sizes and knowledge levels, write proposals, reports and other documents in a clear and concise manner to advance program initiatives from a business and regulatory perspective, and read and interpret tariffs, regulatory orders, federal/local regulations and reports.
- Proven ability to work independently and at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate Degree or post graduate coursework.
- Knowledge of electric and/or natural gas utility (structure, market, department responsibilities, etc.), utility tariffs & rates, utility related electric & gas technologies, renewable energy technologies, products or services and end use customer equipment (i.e. utility and customer lighting, HVAC equipment, distributed generation, etc.).
- Experience with energy markets, corporate purchasing and contract management, energy accounting and/or experience with SAP functions related to purchasing, supply management and accounting.
