JOB SUMMARY:

The employee in this job is responsible for the development of training programs, materials and courses for technical support groups and service technicians for Lexmark products. The individual will work with Lexmark’s Research and Development teams to provide comprehensive product training

packages that will prepare Lexmark’s service partners and call center to support Lexmark customers. The individual will employ industry standard processes and methodology to ensure consistent and effective training modules and courses. To support the training development mission, the individual is responsible for development and pilot testing new courses, deployment, and tracking of results for:

• Instructor-led course study material, instructor guides, and on-line verification tests

• Full online course development using Lexmark’s learning management system (Percipio) tools, and other rich media applications

• Definition and development and course prerequisites

• Setting certification requirements

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in needs analysis studies to determine training needs for new and existing products and technologies.

• Evaluate and select instructional strategies such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, job aides, etc.

• Evaluate and implement testing and course evaluation procedures to be used to deliver training.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge of training best practices, including adult learning principles and practices, accelerated learning,

distance learning, criterion-referenced instruction, experiential learning, and learning styles.

• Broad knowledge of computer and business industry technological products including hardware, software, and

customer applications.

• Experience with applications commonly used for web and rich media content development (e.g., Rise 360, Adobe Captivate, Articulate, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, etc.)

• Familiarity with instructional design models like ADDIE or SAM.

• Creativity and the ability to think outside the box. Must be able to find new and exciting ways to present information to an audience.

• Ability to research newest trends on how learners learn best, activities to increase retention or critical thinking and incorporate them into training.

• Ability to converse with SMEs, ask the right questions and understand what is being said to get the information and content needed for the training material.

• Ability to manage time to keep each project moving forward to meet target completion dates.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Training, or a related field.

• At least 2 years' relevant experience in instructional design and other corporate training-related roles.

• Experience with laser printers and multifunction devices is a plus.

• Experience in technical writing and development of customer facing documentation and instructions is a plus.

• Experience in video production/editing and graphics design is a plus.

• Experience in facilitating and conducting training sessions is a plus.
