About the role:
Ready to drive change and shape the future of the Built Environment? BSI is shaping the future of industry standards. We’re looking for a forward-thinking, people-driven Lead Standards Development Manager to lead the way in developing cutting-edge standards that respond to market needs, government priorities, and industry trends.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a high-profile portfolio of standards and committees in the built environment, both in the UK and across Europe.
- Spot opportunities early — identify where new standards are needed and turn ideas into action.
- Build powerful networks with government, trade bodies, industry leaders, and consumers to influence and promote the role of standards.
- Represent BSI on the big stage — speak at events, build awareness, and champion the value of standards.
- Drive committee work forward — manage expert groups, support Chairs, and make sure projects are delivered on time.

- A natural relationship-builder who can lead expert groups, facilitate consensus, and manage conflict when needed.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and a passion for making a tangible impact.
