JOB SUMMARY:
The HSE Manager leads the long-term environmental, health and safety strategies of H&P through the application of engineering principles and technology to analyze and control conditions contributing to occupational exposures. Promotes a world class safety culture of Actively Caring.

- Provides effective leadership, support and guidance to the business units as they develop a world-class safety culture of continuous improvement.
- Establishes methods that ensure alignment with company safety expectations.
- Provides strategic leadership regarding safety across all assigned business units.
- Partners closely with all levels of leadership to create, maintain and improve H&P safety environment.
- Assists, plans, and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including, but not limited to, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), Aramco HSERM etc.
- Works with customers to address HSE related concerns.
- Coordinates and manages emergency response efforts in the event on injuries or environmental events.
- Serves as SME and company representative for litigation.
- Provides guidance and support to Human Resources in Worker’s Compensation cases.
- Hires, trains, develops and appraises staff effectively. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consults with human resources as appropriate.

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s in Safety, Engineering, Operations or Management.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 10+ years of progressive environmental health and safety experience
- 5+ years minimum of HSE leadership experience.
- Regulatory and compliance experience in Oil and Gas Industry preferred.
- Successfully managed safety teams.
- Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated strategic perspective with ability to implement with results.
LANGUAGES:
- Fluent English and Arabic.
- Spanish helpful but not required.
TRAINING:
- Murchison Drilling School
- Basic TapRoot - Root Cause Analysis
- NEBOSH – IGC
TRAVEL: This position requires travel. Some travel may be international which will require a valid passport.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS/CONTACTS:
Internal – Management and employees of all levels, primarily management and employees involved in Rig management.
External – Customers, Governmental agencies (i.e. OSHA, EPA)
Supervision of Others – Yes. (This position is also required to influence and manage safety at all levels of the organization.)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes, and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office environment. However, work performed in the field, notably on Drilling Rigs, can result in extreme heat/cold and extreme levels of sound. Steel toed boots, eye and ear protection is required. Travel to rigs and remote offices can include helicopters, 4-wheel drive vehicles, and boats. No environmental hazards are encountered in the normal performance of the duties associated with this position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The worker is required to perform most work while seated, but standing and walking may be required for prolonged periods of time. Vision and depth perception sills are required to supervise and monitor equipment and conditions on the rig. Hearing skills are required for communications via different means.
