As a General Ledger Financial Systems Manager, you will be utilizing sophisticated world class Finance Software while using your knowledge and experience to help Guardian achieve their continued vision for the Future of Finance. Lead a General Ledger finance team, oversee the entire finance system platform, and collaborate with various finance teams.

A self-motivated individual who can lead a team of professional accountants with a future of finance mindset in terms of understanding how to automate accounting and streamline the close process to achieve higher value work in a lower cost environment.

Capable of grasping knowledge quickly in terms of accounting processes and systems. Due to the wide range of responsibilities across Corporate finance, you must be a team player who is willing to take on new challenges and is able to multi-task while adding value back to our business partners.
You have

9-12 years of relevant accounting and/or accounting systems experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or Finance with strong Information Systems knowledge (Master’s degree and/or CPA designation a plus)

Preferred - Working knowledge with Oracle Fusion accounting platform (specifically: GL, Fixed Assets, Consolidations and Account Reconciliations) including reporting tools (i.e., SmartView / Essbase, Oracle Analytics)

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel

Willingness and ability to learn quickly, apply critical thinking and complex analysis.

You will

Manage the financial close and maintain our Oracle Fusion accounting system platform and apply AI functionality and other improvements as available.

Optimize processes using automation or other process efficiencies, exhibiting a constant improvement and data-centric mindset to continually move the team from mundane everyday processing to more value-added work.

Manage, support, and provide training on the GL, consolidations, fixed assets, and automated reconciliations functions.

Perform and analyze various monitoring controls during the Financial Close and follow up with relevant Business areas.

Participate in accounting / system error detection and resolution.

Assess and review new functionality and testing evidence for quarterly Oracle system updates and regression testing.

Participate in and support projects and initiatives across the company, to develop the Future of Finance by leveraging AI and Oracle technology.

Produce timely and accurate monthly journals, perform reconciliations, coordinate centralized corporate processes, and resolve open issues.

Prepare, collect, and explain external audit deliverables for relevant processes during the annual financial audit.

Own the testing/maintaining Financial Close key controls and processes as part of the Model Audit Rule (MAR).
Reporting Relationships
As our General Ledger/ Financial Systems Manager, you will report to our VP Head of Financial Systems Transformation and Financial Close within Corporate Finance, who reports to our Corporate Controller and coordinate closely with the Head of Finance System Data Management and Finance System team.
Location
Hybrid role - 3 days in the office, 2 days WFH in the Hudson Yards, NYC office
Travel to Guardian offices as determined by the People Leader.
Salary Range:
$101,180.00 - $166,220.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
