Overview:
Join our dynamic team at ISS STOXX ESG Investor Research as the ESG Ratings Research Lead for our Sustainable Development Goals Solutions Assessment (SDGA)! Reporting directly to the Global Interdisciplinary Sector Head, you'll be pivotal in collecting and analyzing ESG data for our Corporate Ratings and SDGA product. Your role involves both qualitative and quantitative analysis of financial data in combination with assessing companies’ contribution or obstruction to the achievement of the UN SDGs. Plus, you'll lead a team of research analysts, providing guidance, development support, and overseeing their performance.
As the ideal candidate, you'll drive efficient and high-quality research processes, manage projects, and enhance our ratings methodology. You'll contribute to thought leadership by evaluating sustainability performance, including areas like working standards, emissions, and resource consumption.
In addition to research, you'll provide essential management support to our global team, ensuring performance, offering guidance, and handling administrative tasks. Collaboration is key, as you'll work with colleagues from various offices across the globe.
Responsibilities:

Manage a global team, providing guidance and career development support.

Gather ESG data systematically from various sources.

Meet production targets and uphold quality standards.

Be the internal expert on the UN SDGs,

Oversee team performance and address any issues.

Support the team through thought leadership and research publications.

Participate in quality assurance procedures and implement control measures.

Provide research support to colleagues on ISS’ Sales and Account Management teams as needed.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, sustainability, or similar; MBA preferred.

At least 7-10 years of relevant professional research writing experience, including at least 2 years of people management.

Must have solid knowledge in UN SDGs (United Nations Sustainable Development Goals).

Preferably have relevant experience in a sustainability-related field (environment, labor issues, human rights, etc.), financial services, ESG research/Sustainable finance, think tanks focused on sustainability, or academic research institutes/universities.

Experience in the financial industry an asset.

Excellent English skills; proficiency in additional languages is a bonus.

Strong communication, presentation, research, and analytical skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office package.
This role will be assigned on traditional/day shift schedule and hybrid work setting.
