JOB OVERVIEW
Hydrow is seeking a Full-time temporary Embedded Systems Engineer to join our hardware team. Working closely with our electrical and firmware engineers, this role involves hands-on tasks including prototype assembly, hardware testing, firmware development, and PCB design support. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the development of innovative and industry leading connected fitness products.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Work closely with Hydrow’s principal electrical and firmware engineers to support multiple initiatives varying in complexity and urgency.
- Perform hands-on tasks including prototype assembly, troubleshooting, testing, and basic rework of electrical and electromechanical systems.
- Bridge the gap between firmware and electrical expertise, taking on projects in each discipline.
- Develop and debug firmware under guidance from senior engineers.
- Assist in schematic capture and PCB layout tasks under guidance from senior electrical engineers.
- Hands-on development of new products and support of those in production and in the field.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
WHO YOU ARE
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience with embedded systems or electrical engineering, though exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered.
- Experience developing bare metal firmware, test, and analysis programs with C/C++ and Python.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage complex projects and processes with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium, Eagle, KiCad).
- Comfortable performing hands-on prototype assembly, troubleshooting, and testing.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage projects effectively in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Self-starter who is comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience creating and maintaining technical documentation.
