Graybar Electric Company, Inc., is seeking a Director, Subsidiary Operations to act as the liaison between corporate and subsidiary leadership teams, providing strategic guidance on achieving business objectives and ensuring seamless integration and alignment with the parent company.  This role will collaborate across all disciplines (Sales, Operations, Finance, IT, HR, etc.) to address daily operational challenges, recommend policies and goals, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

In this role you will:

  • Develop and implement corporate integration strategies for subsidiaries, ensuring effective coordination and direction for cross-functional activities.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across disciplines to direct integration activities, resolve issues, and oversee change management processes.
  • Oversee subsidiaries’ strategic planning, ensuring alignment with corporate vision, subsidiary goals, and relevant business trends in the marketplace.
  • Identify and capitalize on operational improvement opportunities to drive efficiencies and create synergies with the corporate structure.
  • Facilitate information sharing and best practices across subsidiaries, promoting growth strategies and resource planning.
  • Drive alignment across subsidiaries and with parent company on matters pertaining to supplier relationships and purchasing and rebate agreements.
  • Assess and address training needs, connecting subsidiaries with necessary resources and industry organizations to address knowledge gaps.
  • Monitor financial performance and key metrics related to inventory management, staffing, operating expenses, and capital expenditures, providing strategic advice for improvements.
  • Travel to subsidiaries regularly to build and maintain relationships with management, key employees, customers, and suppliers.

What you bring to the table: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in the wholesale distribution industry.
  • Knowledge of wholesale distribution industry
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles
  • Proven track record of success in driving financial performance.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Track record of driving growth, leading organizational change and delivering measurable results.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire at all levels of the organization.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
