Our Newest Opportunity: 

The Director of Marketing, Small Business, will lead the strategic marketing initiatives for OneDigital’s comprehensive small business offerings, including Employee Benefits, Retirement, Professional Employer Organization (PEO) services, and Property & Casualty (P&C) solutions. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Marketing, this role will play a critical part in driving growth, enhancing client engagement, and positioning OneDigital as the premier partner for small business solutions.

This individual will collaborate closely with practice leaders, sales teams, product development, and service teams to build targeted, data-driven marketing strategies that generate leads, support client retention, and amplify brand presence in the small business market. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and results-driven leader, capable of delivering innovative marketing campaigns that drive measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Strategic Leadership & Go-to-Market Initiatives

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies for all small business offerings—Employee Benefits, Retirement, PEO, and P&C—ensuring alignment with OneDigital’s overarching growth objectives.

  • Partner with business line leaders to define target audiences, segment markets, and craft compelling value propositions tailored to small business owners and decision-makers.

  • Lead integrated go-to-market plans for new products, services, and geographic expansions within the small business sector.

  • Drive thought leadership initiatives that position OneDigital as an innovator and trusted advisor in the small business marketplace.

Brand & Market Positioning

  • Strengthen OneDigital’s brand authority in the small business space through consistent, strategic storytelling and differentiated market positioning.

  • Ensure cohesive brand messaging across all small business marketing initiatives, collaborating with internal stakeholders and field marketing teams.

  • Create and execute campaigns that reflect OneDigital’s fierce advocacy for small businesses, emphasizing personalized solutions and client-first excellence.

Growth & Demand Generation

  • Oversee multi-channel marketing campaigns to drive lead generation, accelerate the sales pipeline, and boost client acquisition across all small business offerings.

  • Implement data-driven marketing strategies to optimize ROI, leveraging digital marketing, SEO/SEM, paid media, and account-based marketing (ABM).

  • Collaborate with sales enablement teams to provide targeted content, tools, and resources that support sales effectiveness throughout the buyer’s journey.

  • Utilize market insights and customer data to refine marketing strategies, enhance conversion rates, and improve client retention.

Operational Excellence & Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing small business marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.

  • Partner with field marketing to ensure seamless execution of national and regional campaigns.

  • Manage marketing budgets, vendor relationships, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and impact.

  • Monitor key performance metrics and use data analytics to inform strategic decisions and optimize marketing effectiveness.

  • Ensure marketing initiatives are compliant with industry regulations and internal compliance standards, partnering with legal and compliance teams to mitigate risks.

Preferred Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in B2B marketing, with a focus on small business solutions, employee benefits, retirement, PEO, insurance, or related industries.

  • Proven track record of leading strategic marketing initiatives that drive growth and establish brand leadership.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field; MBA preferred.

  • Experience with digital marketing platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud), CRM systems, and data analytics tools.

  • Strong understanding of the small business landscape and the unique challenges faced by small business owners.

Required Capabilities

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into actionable marketing initiatives.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to drive results through collaboration and innovation.

  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with small business audiences.

  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills to assess marketing performance and make informed decisions.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Results-oriented, proactive, and adaptable, with a passion for delivering excellence and measurable impact.

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.  We also offer eligible employees health, wellbeing, retirement, and other financial benefits, paid time off, overtime pay for non-exempt employees, and robust learning and development programs.
