Director, Head of Internal Communications
Location: New York City
The Role: We're looking for a hands-on, strategic, and tactical Director of Internal Communications to lead our global internal comms function. This is not a "just edit and send" job. You'll roll up your sleeves to write, build, and execute communication strategies while developing a high-impact internal communications and engagement approach. You'll manage a small but mighty team and be the go-to expert for both executive messaging and company-wide communications, balancing strategic leadership with tactical execution. We believe in the power of clear, authentic communication to drive connection, engagement, and alignment across our teams worldwide.
Why This Role Matters: Great communication drives great performance. Your work will shape how our people stay informed, connected, and inspired—especially as we continue to grow and evolve.
What You'll Own:
- Strategic Communications Leadership: Develop and drive a global internal communications strategy that enhances employee engagement and alignment with company goals.
- Executive Communications: Partner directly with senior leaders to craft and deliver high-impact messaging, including speeches, talking points, and company-wide announcements.
- Broad Corporate Messaging: Lead the planning and execution of large-scale, cross-company communication moments, from All Hands meetings to major organizational updates.
- Hands-On Content Creation: Write, edit, and build communication plans, FAQs, newsletters, leadership messages, and campaign content. Quality, clarity, and impact matter.
- Team Management: Lead and develop a small internal communications team, ensuring alignment and growth while still actively contributing as a doer.
- Consultation & Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor for teams across the company, coaching and consulting on communication approaches and strategies.
What You Bring:
- Proven experience leading internal communications in a global, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to write clear, compelling, and engaging content across multiple formats and channels.
- Expertise in both strategic comms planning and tactical execution—you're as comfortable in the weeds as you are setting vision.
- Executive presence with the ability to influence and guide senior leaders.
- Experience managing and developing a team while staying hands-on.
- Strong judgment and discretion—confident handling sensitive information and complex messaging.
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience working in a publicly traded or highly regulated global organization preferred.
- Familiarity with internal communication tools and platforms (e.g., intranets, newsletters, video messaging).
What we offer:
- Outstanding medical, dental, and vision insurance (individual plan 100% covered) HSA and FSA
- 401K with employer match
- Fitness/Wellness reimbursement
- Generous PTO, paid holidays, and parental leave
- Learning and development opportunities
- Flexible work from home schedule
- Volunteer activities
- Fun office culture with supportive leadership
