You’ll lead a globally distributed team and serve as a driving force behind data governance and standards, operational efficiency, automation, and continuous improvement. This role blends leadership, domain knowledge, and stewardship responsibility to build a proactive, insight-driven, and scalable data function. You will play a critical role in contributing to enhance data governance success through best-in-class ownership and stewardship practices.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Stewardship

  • Lead a globally distributed team of data experts, including offshore and vendor-based resources, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide operational and strategic leadership across content and data stewardship teams, ensuring delivery quality, adherence to internal controls, and process alignment.
  • Transform data operations from task-based processing to proactive data stewardship, with a focus on quality, scalability, and structure across digital media sources (websites, video, social platforms).
  • Ensure timely, accurate delivery of content and data through repeatable, dependable workflows that meet product and business needs.

Business Analysis & Impact

  • Contribute to business planning and project scoping through cost-benefit assessments and performance baselining.
  • Provide input on process optimization opportunities, automation ROI, and improvements that yield measurable operational efficiencies.
  • Support business teams by connecting data stewardship efforts to broader goals such as revenue enablement, improved decision-making, and operational scale.

Automation, AI & Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to streamline operations through process automation, intelligent tooling, and AI integration (e.g., anomaly detection, metadata enrichment, data mapping).
  • Partner with technical stakeholders to evaluate, pilot, and implement solutions that reduce manual effort and increase operational scale.
  • Drive team upskilling to ensure effective adoption and integration of modern, scalable automation techniques.

Performance Management & Metrics

  • Define and monitor key operational and stewardship KPIs to guide prioritization, balance workload against priorities, and evaluate team performance.
  • Lead reporting initiatives that provide visibility into operational health and data delivery outcomes, driving data-informed decision-making.

Customer & Business Impact

  • Ensure data is structured and delivered to support scale, usability, and actionable insight for downstream users, clients, and products.
  • Identify and communicate data usability issues or structural gaps that affect customer outcomes or business reliability.
  • Collaborate with product and business teams to propose solutions that enhance customer experience and unlock data-driven opportunities.

Data Governance Enablement

  • Execute stewardship and ownership responsibilities in alignment with enterprise data governance frameworks.
  • Ensure key governance artifacts—such as taxonomies, metadata, data lineage, definitions, and quality indicators—are maintained and embedded into operational workflows.
  • Act as a partner in governance adoption by embedding policy-aligned practices into daily data management processes.
Requirements

Required:

  • 8+ years of experience in data stewardship, digital media operations, or data quality, with at least 3 years in a team leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of digital media best practices and data formats (web, video, social, etc.).
  • Experience managing global teams and working across time zones and business functions.
  • Proven track record in streamlining data operations and improving quality through process innovation.

Preferred:

  • Hands-on familiarity with data tools and platforms (e.g., CMS, social media management tools, data catalogs, or data quality platforms).
  • Experience with intelligent automation or AI tools within data environments.
  • Familiarity with metadata management, data lineage, and stewardship frameworks.
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or similar operational improvement methodologies (certification a plus, not required).

What Success Looks Like

  • Scalable, efficient operations built on data quality and proactive stewardship.
  • Clear KPIs in place to manage performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Automation and AI used to augment team output and reduce manual effort.
  • Data delivered in ways that drive customer insight, product value, and business impact.
  • Governance practices strengthened through visible ownership and alignment to standards.
