Job Description:

Ferrovial’s Technology Corporate Area is expanding its team, with this position based in Austin, USA. The role focuses on shaping and safeguarding best practices and policies to improve control, industrialization, scalability, maintainability, and alignment with Ferrovial’s standards. 
 
The DevSecOps and SDLC lead will enhance Ferrovial's control and knowledge over software development and CI/CD processes by providing strategic influence and definitions. 
 
This role is responsible for ensuring alignment and compliance among software development providers by creating frameworks, automations and platforms, or utilizing artificial intelligence to monitor CI/CD processes and development activities. Additionally, the role involves making decisions on components, technology stack, and policies for our CI/CD platform. 

 
You will be part of the Technical Office (TO), collaborating with members specializing in Cybersecurity, Cloud, Architecture, and Data. This role requires general knowledge of these other areas to collaborate effectively and contribute to the creation of a comprehensive Ferrovial framework. Together as one team, you will maintain control over the digital assets. 

Main responsibilities: 

Platform and global framework (40%) 

  • Definition of new practices and policies in collaboration with corporate central team. 
  • Implementation and maintenance of pipelines (Azure Devops templates and decorators). 
  • Decide on platform, tools, CI/CD components and their policies. Options include Azure Devops, agent pools, artifacts repositories, Grafana dashboards, logs, templates, Azure Tasks or Backstage Dev Portal.  
  • Improvement of CI/CD monitoring: Define the events and dashboards (Azure Application Insights and Grafana). 

 

Analysis and auditing of repositories and pipelines. (40%) 

  • Thoroughly comprehend and extend Ferrovial's DevSecOps framework alongside industry’s best practices and latest trends. 
  • Analyze product repositories and pipelines for GAP analysis. 
  • Implement the quality and maturity devops model. 
  • Collaborate with the providers to align the solutions with Ferrovial’s framework and standardize it. 
  • Review product configuration and tools: Azure DevOps services, static analysis projects, quality gates, security gates, or remediation plans. 

 

Management of the area’s initiatives and projects (20%) 

  • Track initiatives and define transformation plans with development providers. Engage stakeholders and validate requirements. 
  • Act as a facilitator and proactively solve problems by leveraging networking skills and Ferrovial's expertise. Manage escalations and risks. 
  • Work on tenders and RFPs to ensure DevSecOps strategy, policies and regulations are considered. 
  • Dashboards: Definition of value and maturity key performance indicators (KPIs). 

 

Technical Skills 

Key requirements: 

  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer: YAML, templates, decorators, scripting. 

  • Preferably experience on Azure DevOps including repos, pipelines, artifacts, agent pools and devops platform environment.  

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation. 

  • Experienced and well-versed in SDLC practices.  

  • Basic knowledge of cloud services, particularly Azure and its ecosystems. 

  • Essential: English and Spanish. 

 

Valuable experience in (Preferred but Not Required): 

  • Preferably holds Azure Devops Certificat ions. 

  • Containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, HELM. 

  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC). 

  • Programming practices: Containerization. Experience in Java and Spring Boot is valued. 

  • Experience with tolls like: Static and code quality Analysis (currently Kiuwan) and Grafana (KQL). 

 

Soft Skills
